Some aggrieved delegates of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC in Ketu North are accusing the party’s National Executive Committee of imposing Edem Agbana on the constituency as the parliamentary candidate for election 2024.

The group said the party’s decision to declare the former National Deputy Youth Organiser as winner of the May 13 parliamentary primary amidst controversies is undemocratic and not in the interest of the party in the constituency.

Meanwhile, leadership of the NDC, says that the party will not hold a re-run of the parliamentary primaries in the Ketu North constituency.

Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, says the party will treat the demands of the dissatisfied members as a request for reconciliation, and cannot afford to organize fresh elections in the constituency.

He noted that the National Chairman of the party was present, and the parties involved in the disputed primary were there with their lawyers when a conclusive ruling on the matter was delivered, and Edem Agbana was declared the legitimately elected parliamentary candidate for Ketu North.

He said any other issue will be considered a reconciliation effort, adding, the party is not aware of any petition and no such matter has been brought to the office.

He indicated that the party has moved on, and is preparing the elected candidate to win the seat.
