Day two of the 2020 election petition hearing began with arguments between Counsel for the petitioner, TsatsuTsikata and one of the Supreme Court Judges on the panel, regarding whether it was right for Mr. Tsikata to direct his questions to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission Mrs Jean Mensa instead of the Commission.
GBC’s Court correspondents report the presence of the petitioner, John Mahama, 2020 NDC running mate, Professor Jane Opoku Agyeman; General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia; and NDC Director of Election, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah.
For the NPP Peter Mac Menu is representing the President and other notable persons present in Court are Gabby Otchere-Darko, Out-going Information Minister, KwadwoOppong Nkrumah, NPP National Chairman Freddy Blay and General Secretary, John Boadu.
Some NDC supporters clad in red thronged the Supreme Court premises earlier but were denied entry, and had to make do at the entrance of the Apex Court.
Leader of the group, Hajia Charity who is also the Upper East Regional Women’s organiser of the NDC, said they were at the Supreme Court to solidarise with former President John Mahama.
