The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to launch its much-anticipated manifesto for the 2024 general elections this weekend. The event, which promises to be a defining moment in Ghana’s political landscape, will take place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium at the University of Education, Winneba, on Saturday, 24th August 2024.
In a press release signed by the National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi Esq on August 19 2024, the launch is scheduled to commence at 12 noon and will be graced by the party’s Flagbearer and former President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, who will serve as the Special Guest of Honor. His presence underscores the significance of the event as the NDC gears up for what is expected to be a fiercely contested election.
The manifesto, which has been in development for months, is expected to outline the party’s vision for “resetting and rebuilding Ghana.” Party insiders suggest that it will cover a wide range of issues, including economic transformation, social welfare, education, healthcare, and governance reforms. With the nation facing numerous challenges, the NDC’s proposals will likely focus on providing practical solutions to steer the country back on track.
In attendance will be key figures from the NDC’s leadership, including members of the National Executive Committee, the Council of Elders, and several Members of Parliament. Parliamentary candidates, who will be contesting under the NDC’s banner, are also expected to be present, alongside a host of distinguished guests from various sectors of society. The event is set to draw representatives from the Diplomatic Corps, Civil Society Organizations, Academia, Labor Organizations, the Clergy, and the Creative Arts industry.
A variety of speakers will take the stage, each addressing different thematic areas within the NDC’s manifesto. Their speeches are anticipated to highlight the party’s commitment to fostering growth and addressing the pressing needs of Ghanaians.
As excitement builds ahead of the launch, the NDC has extended an open invitation to the general public and the media to attend. The event organizers have requested that attendees be seated by 11 a.m. to ensure a prompt start. Media outlets interested in covering the event have been asked to contact the NDC’s National Communications Bureau for accreditation.
As the NDC prepares to unveil its roadmap for the future, all eyes will be on Winneba this Saturday. The manifesto launch marks the beginning of what promises to be an intense campaign season, with the NDC aiming to recapture the reins of government and lead Ghana into a new era of progress and development.
