NDC’s Director of Elections and Head of IT, Dr. Omane Boamah has re-emphasized that the 24-hour economy policy of the party is the only achievable and implementable policy that can help address the high unemployment rate in Ghanan
He expressed disappointment in people who said the 24-hour economic policy is not implementable and those who said it already exists, adding that it has helped address unemployment issues in developed countries.
Dr. Omane Boamah spoke to Journalists in Koforidua after a radio interview on GBC Sunrise FM during his Eastern Regional Tour, where he bemoaned how the NPP government has mismanaged the economy and inflicted economic hardship on Ghanaians thereby increasing the cost of living in the country.
He noted that his visit to the region is to sell-out the life-changing policies of the NDC to the people in the Eastern Region which includes the 24-hour economy, and other numerous initiatives to address the unemployment rate and the economic hardship the NPP government has inflicted on Ghanaians.
On the issue of the Free SHS, Dr. Boamah noted that the NDC has never stated anywhere that their party will cancel the policy when they come to power in 2025.
However, he stated that the NDC calls for a review of the policy to improve it for all.
Dr. Omane Boamah enumerated three interventions that the NDC will implement to help review and improve the Free SHS Policy. These are infrastructure improvement to eradicate the double track system, decentralizing of the food procurement and creating a dedicated source of funding for the policy.
The NDC Director of Elections and IT also bemoaned the deplorable nature of the Agartha Market, the deplorable nature of roads and the rise of the unemployment rate in the region.
On the issue of mining, he noted that the new NDC government will promote responsible community mining by providing funding, equipment and machinery support to the youth interested in mining under the youth in mining policy.
He therefore appealed to the people of the Eastern Region and the country at large to vote massively for the NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and all the NDC Parliamentary candidates across the country to bring about the change the country requires.
