Former President John Dramani Mahama says the next administration of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) will be committed to developing the new regions.
Addressing NDC delegates at separate meetings in Sefwi Bekwai, Wiawso, Adabokrom, Essam, Juaboso, Bodi, Akontombra, Dadieso and Enchi, Mr. Mahama said the NDC has a superior record of infrastructure development across the country and it will be fully committed to the development of the new regions.
The former President is on a five-day campaign tour of the Western Region to seek the mandate of delegates to lead the NDC to victory in the 2020 elections.
In another development, the Member of Parliament for Bodi constituency, Samson Ahi has, on behalf of delegates in his constituency, endorsed former President John Dramani Mahama as flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) for the 2020 presidential elections.
He says Mr. Mahama represents the NDC’s best and brightest chance for recapturing power in 2020 and delegates from Bodi constituency have decided to vote en bloc for him.
Speaking to delegates in Bodi on Sunday at a meeting between former President Mahama and NDC delegates in Bodi constituency ahead of the NDC presidential primaries on January 26, Mr. Ahi said President Akufo-Addo does not have Ghanaians at heart and has to be voted out of office in the next presidential election.
He said the economic policies of the government has brought untold hardship to Ghanaians, with cocoa farmers in particular being at the receiving end of the government’s bad policies.
Mr. Ahi said fertiliser which was supplied free of charge to cocoa farmers by the NDC administration is now sold to cocoa farmers under the current government, despite being marked “ not for sale”.
He was also unhappy that the Akufo-Addo government has abandoned all projects started by the Mahama administration in Bodi constituency and surrounding areas.
Mr. Ahi therefore urged members of the NDC to work hard for victory in the 2020 general elections for the abandoned projects to be completed.
