Sarah Adwoa Safo, the former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has been summoned to appear before the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Disciplinary Committee on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Accra.
This follows allegations that she flouted party directives by making comments on media platforms that reportedly undermined the party’s reputation and unity.
The invitation, signed by Hon. Patrick Boamah, Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, and William Yamoah, Director of Finance and Administration, advises Adwoa Safo to bring relevant evidence or witnesses and allows for legal representation during the proceedings.
The NPP emphasised its commitment to transparency and due process in handling the matter.
The summons comes amid heightened scrutiny of internal party discipline as the NPP seeks to present a united front ahead of the 2028 general elections. Analysts suggest the move underscores the party’s efforts to enforce accountability among high-profile members.
Adwoa Safo’s case has drawn significant public attention, given her previous role as Gender Minister and her history of controversies surrounding parliamentary absenteeism—raising questions about the potential political ramifications for both the lawmaker and the party’s image.
