Mr Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, has told supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure the party was retained in power to continue its impactful social interventions for the country.

He made these remarks when he joined Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate of the NPP to tour the Assin North and Central Constituencies.

He said some interventions by the party included the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the flagship programme; Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy, and Digitisation had impacted and changed the lives of many Ghanaians.

According to Mr Agyapong, he felt relieved in his constituency at the introduction of the FSHS as the long queue in his house had ceased.

He said the FSHS had absorbed the cost of tuition, textbooks, feeding and other fees, increased enrolment, provided equity and improved the overall quality of education in the country.

That notwithstanding, he said the NHIS also replaced the cash and carry system which had some consequential effects on the less privileged.

Again, he said, the NHIS offered financial protection by reducing out-of-pocket expenses for individuals and healthcare services.

On his part, Dr Opoku-Prempeh told the electorates to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and maintain the NPP to break the eight as the NDC had nothing under its sleeves to offer Ghanaians.

He reiterated that the NPP had better policies than their opponent that would propel the country to a different level.

He admonished them to vote for the NPP for more development.

Mr Godfred Nti Anewu Parliamentary candidate for Assin Central Constituency, appealed to all to vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for President and himself as the next Member of Parliament (MP) to ensure the continuation of development in the constituency.

He called for unity in the party and admonished supporters to avoid petty squabbles that had the tendency of making the party unpopular.
