The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed its members to stop discussing internal party issues that could create disaffection in the media.
In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP acknowledged the disappointment and emotional distress among its members following their defeat in the 2024 election.
However, the party urged its members to remain calm.
**”Many of us, as party members, have, on several platforms, expressed our anger, disappointment, and frustration. However, we humbly ask that all party faithful remain calm so that cooler heads may prevail at this time.
As an officer of the Party, mandated by the Party’s Constitution under Article 10(7)(5) to coordinate the activities and operations of the Party, please note that all Party members are hereby directed to immediately cease discussing Party issues that create unrest, negativism, and disaffection in the media and other related platforms,”** the statement, issued on March 20, 2025, read.
The NPP also referenced Article 3(5) of the Party’s Constitution, which mandates members to promote and defend the good name of the Party.
The statement further indicated that leadership at the national, regional, and constituency levels must refer any member who breaches this directive to the Party’s appropriate disciplinary committees.
“Let us uphold the values of the NPP and work together to rebuild a stronger party for the future,” the statement added.
