The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has reiterated government’s resolve to fulfill all its campaign promises.

Speaking at a forum organised by the party’s youth wing dubbed “The Youth Must Know Series” in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, he said the party’s campaign promise as captured in its 2016 manifesto inspired confidence in the youth for the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who since taken office in January 2017, has not relented in delivering on key promises of his government.

On the Free SHS Policy, Nana Boakye disclosed that in the first year of its implementation, the rate of students who could not enroll after being placed dropped from an annual average of twenty eight percent to seventeen percent, a rate he described as a huge improvement. He explained some of the reasons why the Double Track system was put in place.

He also pointed out that the Nation Builders Corp (NABCO) programme has so far offered employment opportunities to about one hundred thousand young men and women to provide them with the necessary skills and to reduce their hardships.

Nana Boakye further stated that about one hundred and eighty one factories under the “One-District-One-Factory” program are at various stages of construction and operation across the country.

He cited the Ekumfi Pineapple Factory which was commissioned recently as an example.

He also spoke on successes chalked up by the government in areas such as the restoration of the Teacher and Nursing Trainee allowances, Youth in Agriculture, Free BECE Registration Policy, Capitation Grant, as well as the government’s employment record including the provision of jobs for fifteen thousand Community Police Personnel and ten thousand employed under the Youth in Afforestation Program.

‘The Youth Must Know’ series is aimed at highlighting the impact of government’s achievements on the youth across the country.

The program was attended by all Regional Youth Organizers of the party.
