President Akufo-Addo has admitted that Ghana is going through a very difficult time economically. The challenges, he emphasized, are the causes of some external factors. The President has however, given the assurance that it is, it is only an NPP government that is capable of turning the situation around.

President Akufo-Addo made the appeal in Kumasi when he outdoored a new Membership Card of the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Outdooring the New Patriotic Party’s new Smart Membership Card was part of President Akufo-Addo’s Day 3 schedule in his working tour of the Ashanti region. The event brought together people from parts of the country, functionaries, sympathizers and some members of the public.

The project is an initiative of the immediate past national executives and completed by the new executives of the party.

During the outdooring ceremony, the biometric registration work station was deployed to capture the biometric details of members including President Akufo-Addo, and the National Chairman, Stephen Ntim.

The new Intelligent Membership Identity Card is embedded with features for the capturing of personal biometric data and is accompanied with a Mobile Money Application for members to pay their monthly Dues.

The National Chairman of the party, Stephen Ntim, reminded the members of the previous ID Cards produced by the party to identify its members.

The General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, disclosed that the new Card is in line with the Party’s Constitution and that the registration will be done in two phases without an intention to use it for any of the impending internal elections of the party.

President Akufo-Addo was given his new Biometric party Membership Card by the National Chairman after going through the approved procedure.

In a remark, President Akufo-Addo, admitted that the economy is facing some challenges which he noted, his government is working hard to resolve.

President Akufo-Addo told party faithful that the NPP will succeed in winning the 2024 Presidential elections to break the eight-year cycle of change in governance since 1993 to shock even their opponents.

He called for the support and cooperation of all members of the NPP for both the government and leadership of the ruling party to make the agenda possible.
