The Suhum Constituency branch of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has handed two of its Constituency executives with an indefinite suspension for allegedly violating Articles 3(9)(1) and 3(5)(a)(2) and (4) of the NPP Constitution.

The two officers are, the Constituency Communication Officer, Mr. Samuel Baah and, the Deputy Constituency Nassara Coordinator, Alhaji Bala Abubakar.

The suspension of the two constituency executives was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Suhum Constituency Secretary, Mr. Stephen A. Odame, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

According to the statement, Mr. Baah and Alhaji Abubakar are alleged to have been engaged in anti-party activities.

According to the Constituency Secretary the two executives were found guilty of breaching the party’s constitution through their actions, which were deemed divisive and anti-party.

“The Constituency Executive Committee (CEC) cited several misconducts, including campaigning against the party’s parliamentary candidate, organising processions with anti-party messages and presenting a petition to the incumbent MP to contest as an independent candidate

These actions were deemed to be in breach of Articles 3(9)(1) and 3(5)(a)(2) and (4) of the NPP Constitution, resulting in the forfeiture of their membership and suspension from their positions.

The party has emphasised that discipline and unity are paramount ahead of the 2024 elections, warning that similar conduct will not be tolerated.” Portions of the statement read.
