The Attorney General (AG), has filed the alleged leaked audio of the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo as evidence to the court.

This is the audio where Mr Ofosu Ampofo is heard inciting his party supporters against some personalities, including the Chairman of the Peace Council.

The NDC has denied the content of the audio, claiming it has been doctored to score political goals.

However, the NDC Chairman and the Party’s Deputy Communication Officer, Kwaku Boahen have been slapped with conspiracy to cause harm and assault on a public officer.

During the last sitting, the Court ordered the AG to file all documents it would rely on in prosecuting the accused persons.

In Court Monday, Director of Public Prosecution, Yvonne Atakora Obuobisa told the Court presided over by Justice Samuel Asiedu that, they filed all those documents Monday morning. These include the charge statement obtained from the accused persons, the CD of the audio recordings, transcripts of the recordings as well as all other relevant documents.

Lawyer of the Deputy Communication Officer of the NDC, Kweku Boahen also told the Court they have filed an alibi indicating that his client was not present at the said meeting.

The Court has adjourned the matter to May 27.

Some big wigs within the NDC as well as sympathisers were there to support their Chairman. Some Party supporters were also clad in red T shirts with the inscription, “we stand for Ofosu Ampofo”.
