Mr Daniel Kwaku Botwe, Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere, has expressed confidence in the capacity of Mr Daniel Nana Addo-Kenneth, the Okere District Chief Executive to take over from him, come December 7, 2024.

“His humility, hard work and service over the years undoubtedly place him in the position to take over from me as the MP and am confident in his capacity to represent the good people of Okere”.

Speaking at a function at Akuapem-Adukrom, Mr Dan Botwe, declared his unflinching support to the DCE and appealed to all in the constituency to rally behind him to become the next MP, come December 7, 2024.

He said his hard work, from being the Okere constituency NPPs secretary through to becoming the President’s nominee for the position of the DCE was evident and enough proof that he had experience and therefore ready to represent Okere in Parliament.

Mr Botwe, a former General-Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Minister of state leaves parliament in 2024 after serving four-terms and a total of 16 years as the Okere MP for the party.

The Okere DCE started his political career as a polling station executive and became the constituency secretary for nine continuous years until the Okere district was carved out of Akropong when he was appointed as the DCE.

The DCE won the party primaries to replace Mr Dan Botwe as the NPP parliamentary candidate for Okere and had always maintained that he would stand on the legacies of Mr Dan Botwe, a colossus of Ghana’s politics to retain the seat for the NPP.

While counting the legacies of the MP, he emphasized that “when a huge tree is uprooted, you replace it with an equally strong tree so that the void is not felt’ adding that having worked closely with him all these years he was the best to replace him.

For the past five-years since the creation of the district, Mr Addo-Kenneth had been at the helm of the transformative agenda of the NPP and the vision of the MP in building the infrastructure and systems for the development of the area.

Together with the MP, the candidate endeared himself to the people of Okere with massive development in the education and health sectors as well as improvement in the living standards of the people.

The DCE was hopeful that the NPP through the able leadership of Mr Dan Botwe had dealt with the people of Okere well and therefore come December 7, he would be declared as the MP to continue with the good works.
