In a fervent address at his official unveiling at Jubilee Park in Kumasi, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who serves as the Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, emphasized that Ghana is not experiencing “dumsor” (frequent power outages), but rather “dumsiesie” (power outages to fix problems).

He urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work diligently towards securing 85% of votes from the Ashanti Region in the upcoming December 7 elections.

“When we leave this place, we are going to do hard work,” Dr. Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, declared. “TESCON members, the only party which will give you a future is NPP. We are not joking in this election.”

Highlighting his trust in President Nana Akufo-Addo’s leadership, he called for a victory in the December elections as a reward for Akufo-Addo’s confidence in him as the Director of Elections.

“Akufo-Addo has done well with the government building 111 hospitals and absorbing the cost of secondary education with Free SHS,” he noted.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s speech rallied the party faithful, reinforcing the NPP’s commitment to progress and development, and setting the stage for a vigorous campaign season.
