The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is calling on the general public to help in the arrest of the former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The OSP has also issued a wanted notice for Mr. Ofori-Atta on its official social media platforms, X and Facebook.

The issuing of a wanted notice follows the OSP’s declaration of Mr. Ofori-Atta as a fugitive last week.

Mr Ofori-Atta is said to be out of the jurisdiction on a medical trip to the United States at the time, armed men in military uniforms stormed his residence in Accra last week.

The OSP said it had previously summoned him (Mr. Ofori-Atta) for questioning over alleged financial misconduct, with his lawyers assuring authorities of his willingness to cooperate upon his return.

Despite this, at a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Kissi Agyebeng officially declared Ofori-Atta wanted, maintaining that he is now considered a fugitive.

In the notice on Facebook, the OSP said, “This suspect is wanted to answer charges in respect of several cases including Strategic Mobilisation-GRA Contract, Termination of ECG-BXC contract, National Cathedral payments, Ambulance Procurement contract and Tax Refund Account Utilisation.”

Adding, “Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this individual should alert the Office by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 0554494499/0554484488.”
