Parliament on 2nd December, 2021 has adjourned sitting without public business.

The House has been adjourned to Tuesday, 7th December 2021 when the Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh prayed for adjournment and seconded by the Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi.

The Twenty-Third sitting of the third meeting of Parliament commenced about 1:30pm and adjourned within five minutes after prayers.

The Deputy Majority Chief Whip who called for an adjournment raised some leadership meetings before sitting and the leadership agreed to early adjournment to enable Members to go to their Constituencies on time for The Farmer’s Day slated for tomorrow 3rd December, 2021.

In a related development, the Minority at a Press Conference led by MP for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga told Journalists that the motion moved by the Minority Leader and seconded by him is still pending.

According to him, the motion was moved on Wednesday, 1st December 2021 to reverse the Budget approval by the Majority alone, seconded and debated but the First Speaker failed to put a question on it.

He said, procedurally, “questions must be put on the motion”.

Mr. Mahama Ayariga made this known as he sought to clarify to the media as to whether the Minority had lost the motion to reverse the ‘approved budget’ which was ‘rejected’ earlier.
