Parliament will reconvene for its fifth meeting of the fourth session today, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The temporary relocation is due to ongoing renovation works in Parliament’s main chamber.
According to a formal statement issued on September 30, 2024, and signed by Speaker Alban Bagbin, Members of Parliament were officially notified about the reconvening.
Prior to this meeting, Parliament held a two-day emergency sitting at the Dome, approving a $250 million loan agreement with the World Bank.
The loan supports Ghana’s Energy Sector Recovery Programme, addressing financial sustainability and operational efficiency challenges crucial for the country’s economic stability.
Notably, the agreement was initially disapproved before Parliament’s recess but was a key reason for the House’s recall on September 3, 2024.
