President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has held a breakfast meeting with the Clergy to discuss the building of the National Cathedral.

The meeting has become necessary due to the loud public outcry over plans to evict some judges from their homes to make way for the construction of the 5,000 seater capacity cathedral.

President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s project to build a National Cathedral has been hailed by some religious groups and a section of the public, however, it seems to have ruffled the feathers of a few other interest groups.

The 14 acres that the magnificent building will occupy is partly the location of the residence of some Appeal Court Judges and other important state institutions.

The cathedral will be an interdenominational Christian cathedral and will a thanksgiving edifice to God as part of Ghana’s 60th-anniversary celebrations, the President has said.

President Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 unveiled the design and architecture of the national Cathedral at a brief ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre.
