Physician Assistants who laid down their tools on the 10th of this month for various reasons have called off their strike following an MOU signed with the Health Ministry.

According to them they are calling off the strike due to the respect and love they have for Ghanaians.

President of the Ghana Physicians Assistants Association, Alhaji Imoro Bandana told GBC’s Ibrahim Kwarteng that the Ministry agreed to address their concerns especially their salaries.

The Ghana Physician Assistants Association gave government a three week ultimatum to resolve all long outstanding issues, failure of which will result in a series of industrial actions, beginning with the withdrawal of all Out Patient Department services by all Physician Assistants working in public health institutions.
According to the Association, the Ministry of Health, and Ghana Health Service and other implementing agencies continue to exhibit apathy towards the resolution of issues affecting the practice and welfare of Physician Assistants nationwide.
