PNC to hold Presidential Primaries March 24

The People’s National Convention PNC has fixed the 24th of March for its presidential primaries.

The party has also pegged the filing fee at 100 thousand Ghana cedis.

Speaking to GBC News, PNC General Secretary, Janet Asaba said the PNC’s figures are the lowest among all the major political parties.

She explained that anyone interested in leading the party must be capable of raising funds towards the party’s activities.

Ahead of the presidential primaries, regional and national executive elections will be conducted starting from the 15th of January, 2024.
A statement issued by the party said, Presidential aspirants have to pay GH¢2,000 for the nomination forms.

“The fee for the presidential candidature is GH¢100,000.

“For the national chairperson, the fee is GH¢35,000. The Vice Chairperson and General Secretary will each pay GH¢25,000, while the National Organizer aspirants will pay GH¢15,000.

“The National Women’s Organizer, National Treasurer, and National Youth Organizer aspirants will each pay GH¢10,000. Deputy positions’ aspirants in the national elections will need to pay GH¢5,000 each.”

Meanwhile, PNC says that women aspirants are expected to pay half of all the fees.
