Government says the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has concluded investigations on former GFA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

A statement signed by Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide said the docket is expected to be presented to the Attorney General soon.

The statement follows concerns raised by some persons over government’s delay in prosecuting Mr Nyantakyi although FIFA has already concluded theirs and had handed a lifetime ban despite the fact that evidence was presented to government ahead of FIFA’s.

In response, government said the criminal investigation was upon the orders of the president after viewing the-Number 12 video documentary.

It rejected claims that Mr. Nyantakyi is a close confidante of President Akufo-Addo. It said the president’s relationship with Mr Nyantakyi is a professional one just as he has with other persons occupying positions of public interest.
