The Ghana Police Service says it has begun an investigation into an incident involving the convoy of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Friday, 29th November 2024.
According to the Police, preliminary report indicates that the incident occurred between Akuse and Kpong, along the Akosombo-Accra Highway in the Eastern Region, when a dispatch rider from the opposite direction allegedly threw an object at the windscreen of a vehicle in the running mate’s convoy, causing damage to the windscreen”.
Police say the incident would be well investigated to give confidence to safety of all persons during the polls.
“We would like to assure the public that the matter will be thoroughly investigated as we are committed to ensuring the safety of all persons before, during and after the 2024 General Elections.”
