President Akufo-Addo has expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for the confidence reposed in him for a second term in office.
He promised to work harder and prayed that the Lord gives him the wisdom and confidence to lead the nation to its utmost development.
The President was speaking at a Thanksgiving Service in his honour at Kyebi in the Eastern Region.
President Akufo-Addo prayed for wisdom, understanding and bravery to govern the nation for the next four years.
He pledged to work even harder in his second term and sought the support of all Ghanaians to develop the nation.
The Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori-Panin attributed the successes chalked up by the President in his first term to the grace of God.
He urged government officials to avoid selfishness, greed and pride in their line of duty.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori-Panin prayed for long life and good health for the President to continue to deliver on his promises.
In his exhortation, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mantey condemned actions that characterised the swearing in of Members of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic on Thursday dawn.
He admonished politicians to live beyond reproach, by tolerating each other’s views.
He prayed for goodness and mercy to follow the president all the days of his life and urged him to forever dwell in the house of the Lord.
He was also grateful to God for peaceful elections and successes chalked up in the fight against COVID-19.
The service, which was organized by the Akyem Abuakwa State, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the Kyebi Local Council of Churches, was attended by the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and his wife Samira, the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori-Panin, as well as some Ministers of State and other government appointees.
