President Akufo-Addo says this year’s WASSCE results have silenced critics of government’s flagship programme, the Free SHS.
He was hopeful there will be vast improvement in the results in subsequent years.
Addressing a rally at Aburi in the Akuapem South constituency of the Eastern Region, President Akufo-Addo urged all to come out in their numbers to vote to protect the Free SHS.
President Akufo-Addo received a rousing welcome at Aburi in the Akuapem south constituency on the last day of his two day tour of the Eastern region. Students from across the constituency lined up on the streets to welcome the President and show appreciation for benefiting from the Free SHS policy.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life, clad in NPP paraphernalia occupied every space in town, resulting in a huge traffic. As at 9 a.m., the Arisco Park of the Aburi Girls Senior High school was full of students and people from the various towns within the Aburi enclave. Aburihene Otubuo Gyan Kwesi endorsed the candidature of the NPP flag bearer.
President Akufo-Addo solicited for more votes from the constituency which has been loyal to the NPP since the return to constitutional rule.
The MP for Akuapem South, O. B Amoah said the Party is targeting 80 percent of the votes in the constituency.
