President John Dramani Mahama has submitted his first set of ministerial nominations to the Speaker of Parliament for approval.
This marks the first major step in assembling his team to govern the nation. The nominations were submitted in line with Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, which requires the President to consult Parliament in appointing ministers of state.
The nominees include Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson as Minister for Finance, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor as Minister for Energy, and Hon. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.
These appointments are critical to the economic, energy, and legal sectors, signaling the President’s focus on addressing key challenges in these areas.
The nominations have been referred to Parliament, where the Appointments Committee will vet the nominees to determine their suitability for the positions.
