Wife of Ghana’s Vice President, Samira Bawumia, has lauded his husband Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his proven leadership, particularly in navigating the country through challenging global crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing international economic instability. Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show with host Maltiti Sayida Sadick, Samira Bawumia emphasized her husband’s dedication and resilience in managing the affairs of government.

Despite the numerous difficulties faced by the New Patriotic Party (NPP)-led government, including global conflicts and health crises, Samira believes that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership has remained steadfast. “He is a man tried and tested in running the affairs of government and delivering his best,” she stated, highlighting his commitment to overcoming the nation’s challenges.

Addressing Ghanaians who may feel dissatisfied with the government’s performance, Samira acknowledged the importance of feedback, welcoming criticism and varied opinions. However, she also pointed out the unique hurdles the current administration has had to contend with, urging the public to appreciate the broader context. “No government can solve all the problems in a country, especially with the turmoil this government has been through,” she remarked.

Samira Bawumia further urged the public to support Dr. Bawumia, emphasizing his vision for Ghana’s future and his deep belief in the potential of the country’s youth. She expressed confidence in his ability to lead the nation through its present difficulties, asserting, “I see how hard he works and how much he believes in the youth of this country.”

Her comments come at a time when there is growing speculation about Dr. Bawumia’s potential candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections, with many believing that his leadership will be critical in guiding Ghana through its current economic and social challenges.

In her closing remarks, Samira reiterated her belief that her husband is the ideal candidate to lead the country, stressing his ability to transform the nation’s fortunes during these critical times.
