Several African Presidents and governments confirm Akufo-Addo’s inauguration attendance

Several Heads of State and governments have confirmed their attendance to the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Vice President-elect Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday, 7th January 2021 at 11am.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Head of the Inauguration Committee on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at a press briefing in Accra.

She said Nigeria, Gambia, India, France and several others would be represented by their Foreign Ministers at the ceremony.

She said, “So far we have several Heads of State and government who have accepted or who are going to be part of the ceremony,”.

Countries including Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Chad, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, and Sierra Leone have all confirmed participation.

Others are Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Guinea, Togo, Niger Gambia, India, Rwanda, Gabon, UK Minister for Africa, US Special Envoy for the Sahel, President of ECOWAS Commission, Chairperson of the AU Commission, Conservative Party from the United Kingdom and the CDU and allied parties from Germany.
