Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shiabu says greed or avarice is a canker disturbing Ghanaian society.
Speaking on the ‘Headlines’ Segment of the GTV Breakfast Show on Thursday, November 3, 2022, Shiekh Shiabu Aremeyaw said with over 90% of the Ghanaian population being religious, only 5% are righteous.
“All the evils that you can think about, you can associate it with Ghana apart from the fact that God has blessed us with peace,” the Sheikh sadly said.
This, he noted, is a worrying trend for a country globally acclaimed as the beacon of peace.
“Come close to Ghanaians, come close to us and you will see greed, you’ll see avarice; you’ll see envy, covetousness, dishonesty, corruption. In fact, all the ills, all the ills and that is why we find our country in this situation,” Sheikh Aremeyaw Shiabu said.
The Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam indicated that the canker has eaten so deeply into every fibre of Ghanaian Society and is even connected with the galamsey issue which has become an albatross around the necks of stakeholders.
He said Ghanaians are at a wit end and indicated that Ghanaians can only pray.
