Executives of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP),  in the Sissala West District have called for the removal of the District Chief Executive Officer, (DCE), Mohammed Bakor from office.
According to them, his removal will pave the way for what they termed “peace and development of the party to consolidate its gains in the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections in the constituency”.

Constituency Secretary, Abdul-Rauf Zini

The Constituency Secretary, Abdul-Rauf Zini told a news conference at Gwollu that the DCE’s continuous stay in office is a disincentive to the party’s growth.

The group made up of elders, constituency and polling station executives as well as electoral area coordinators leveled a number of allegations against the DCE which includes the building of two houses for himself, one at Tumu and the other at Berekum in the Bono-Ahafo Region.
GBC’s correspondent Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo reports that another group, calling itself Concerned Members of NPP in Sissala West led by, Karim Hudu Muah also in a news conference debunked the allegations against the DCE, saying those calling for his head have an agenda.

The Sissala West NPP Executives also accused the DCE of awarding school feeding contracts to himself and his immediate family, exhibiting affluence and buying a car for his wife among others.

The Sissala West Constituency Secretary of NPP, Abdul-Rauf Zini said: “In the DCE’s usual uncompromising and wantom disregard for our party development, the DCE has also vowed not to visit some communities or polling stations for reasons best known to him alone.

This posture of the DCE is a rehearsed intension to alienate party members and divide the support base to him [DCE] to centralize the distribution of resources.

No wonder the he and the MP awarded District Development Funds projects to themselves.

The DCE takes unilateral decisions and acts clandestinely on issues bordering on jobs, recruitment and other opportunities thereby denying party faithful across the constituency the chance to better their lot.”

Mr. Zini also accused the MP, Patrick Alhassan Adama of not being visible and accessible in the constituency, saying “Hon Patrick Alhassan Adama stays in a hotel in another constituency denying his constituents access to discuss pertinent socio-development issues.”

Responding to the issues, the spokesperson of the Concerned NPP Members in Sissala West, Karim Hudu Muah said Mr. Bakor built the house in Tumu before he became a DCE and that he has no house in Berekum as being alleged by the party executives.

He pointed out that: “Every well-meaning person who really knows the issues on the grand, knew that the allegations are untrue and just a sheer hatred level against this hard working, committed and dedicated party member whose party membership and contributions cannot be doubted by all and sundry in the constituency from all political parties across board”.

Mr. Muah reiterated that “As concerned party members within the district, we will want to clearly state that any allegations or whatsoever that seek to doubt the efforts of the DCE and the MP in developing our great party in the Sissala West is far from the truth and such allegations can only be branded as one that seek to destroy the unity within the party in the Sissala West District”.

The spokesperson of the Concerned NPP Members in Sissala West, Mr. Muah asked the party executives to give the MP and the DCE peace of mind to work and develop Sissala West District to enable the NPP to maximize votes in the 2020 general elections.

Paramount Chief of Gwollu, Kuoru Kuri Buktie Limann

The Paramount Chief of Gwollu, Kuoru Kuri Buktie Liman in an interview at his palace, appealed to the two factions to use appropriate channels to resolve their differences and direct their efforts towards the development of Sissala West.

“They should look at our roads, our water system, our educational system and see what they can do by putting their energy and splendor in empowering development to come to our District”, the Chief emphasized.

Kuoru Buktie Limann observed that a stable atmosphere is a prerequisite for progress.
