The Dormaa East District of the Bono Region has  inaugurated its six sub-District Administrative structures.

These are Wamfie Town Council and Akontanim, Wamanafo, Kyeremasu, Asuotiano and Dormaa Akwamu Area Councils.

The Dormaa East DCE, Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang, said the sub-structures are crucial for grassroots development.

Members of the Six Sub-structures of the Dormaa East District are among other things expected to collaborate with the Assembly and Nananom, to monitor and supervise projects within their jurisdictions, as well as lead communal labour, and support authorized revenue collectors.

Members will benefit from a quota of the revenue generated and are to identify needs and challenges in the communities for redress. Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang is the DCE for Dormaa East District,

Mr. Agyemang said the sub-structures are very essential as it is where the Ghana Beyond Aid could be achieved.

He assured them of the Assembly’s support to function properly to deepen democracy and strengthen participation in local governance.

He also called on Players in the Sub District Structures to commit themselves to innovations so that by the end of their four year term, some tangible results would be seen in terms of infrastructure development, sanitation and revenue mobilization among other areas.
