A total of 457 voters are expected to cast their ballots in the special voting exercise in Tema Central. The voting, taking place at the Community Eight Police Station, is proceeding smoothly.

As of 10 a.m. this morning, over 95 security personnel and media representatives had cast their votes. Heavy security was present at the center, ensuring order. Both parliamentary candidates were present at the polling station and called for free and fair elections.

The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central, Ebi Bright, expressed confidence in her party’s prospects. She stated, “I know it’s all working in my favor, and most importantly, we’ve done our groundwork and our homework. Ghanaians must hold on to the hope and expectation they have and the need for change, and that is above all.”

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Charles Forson, was optimistic about a strong outcome for his party. He stated, “In Tema Central, we are hopeful for nothing less than 83 percent of votes cast. Though I’m not there yet, it’s about policies and frameworks that will move Ghana forward.” He added that his party is addressing critical issues such as road maintenance, sewer challenges, and security, while implementing a seven-pillar agenda to transform Tema Central into the most beautiful constituency in Ghana.

In the Tema West Constituency, the special voting exercise commenced smoothly, with 1,048 eligible voters expected to cast their ballots. Special voters in this constituency are voting at the Tema Community Two Police Station, which has two polling stations. As of the time of filing this report, 142 people had cast their votes at Polling Station ‘A’.

Speaking with GBC’s Edith Atiaka Eshun, the Tema West Municipal Electoral Officer, John Nunoo, said the turnout has been very encouraging. He added, “Security personnel are at post, and adequate provisions have been made for persons with disabilities.” The voting exercise began promptly at 7 a.m.

In the Krowor Constituency, 1,006 persons are expected to cast their ballots. When GBC-Obonu News arrived at the Nungua Police Station around 8:15 a.m., 35 voters had cast their votes at Centre A, while 40 had been recorded at Centre B.

The Returning Officer at the center, Benedict Clottey, commended the smooth process and encouraged voters to continue ensuring successful elections. Political party agents from the NDC, NPP, NDP, and an independent candidate were present to monitor the exercise.
