Ghana’s special voting for the presidential and parliamentary elections at Krowor Constituency, precisely at Nungua Police Station, is underway in a calm atmosphere.

The special voting exercise is intended for security personnel, media personnel, and other essential service providers who will be on duty on the main election day, December 7.

Electoral Commission’s Officer Justice Nii Laryeh, in charge of the Centre, assured that all necessary measures are in place to ensure a smooth and peaceful voting process.

According to him, one thousand six hundred eligible voters are recorded at this Centre. Voting started at about 7:45 am, and so far 340 voters had voted at the time of filing this report.

GBC NEWS’ Mavis Otchere caught up with the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, who said she is optimistic of a massive victory for the 2024 elections. She noted that, having proven to the people of Krowor that she is able to serve them diligently and earnestly with respect and humanity, they will ensure to vote for her.

Additionally, the NPP Candidate Engineer Emmanuel Laryea Odai, also hinted that he was glad to see the calm atmosphere at the polls and prayed that Ghana translate the same attitude through the general election come Saturday. According to him, the context is an endorsement for him rather than a competition. He believes he will win hands down.

Both NDC and NPP had their representatives supervising the process.
