Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has voiced worries about the 8th parliament’s reputation labeling it the most chaotic in history. She condemned rowdiness and fights on the floor of parliament.

On October 22, 2024, during an interview with Joy News with regard to the controversy about the vacant seats, she urges the leadership to come together, resolve differences maturely, and set a good example for the youth.

She stressed that parliament’s actions should reflect its honorable title and promote confidence in the institution.

She said, “And we go down in history as the worst parliament, if not one of the worst, led by a speaker because the speaker is supposed to bring order to the house”.

In her statement, she expressed concerns over potential escalation during his term. The contentious circumstances surrounding his inauguration were challenging enough. The focus now is to avoid a similar situation as his tenure concludes, urging him to promote calm and rationality to prevent further discord.
