The US Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie Sullivan, says her country is willing to help Ghana address vigilantism if concrete proposals are put on the table.

Ambassador Sullivan said the security and peace of Ghana is dear to America because the country remains a beacon of stability for the Sub-Saharan region.

She said the menace of vigilante groups in the country could be addressed if all parties take responsibility and exhibit high levels of commitment.

Ambassador Sullivan said Ghana should be mindful of not exporting all the peace, but work towards maintaining internal peace.

She however, commended Ghana for supporting peace initiatives across the world.

The US Ambassador was addressing the media in Tamale on the first day of her three-day official visit to the Northern Region.

Ambassador Sullivan is in the northern region on her first official visit as US Ambassador to Ghana.

She is expected to visit some US government funded enterprises in the region as well as touch base with political and traditional leaders.
