As Ghanaians prepare to head to the polls on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 to elect Assembly members, Governance Expert, Fred Oduro Agyarko has urged the electorates to prioritize voting for women.
He said Ghana needs people of integrity within the governance system and highlighted women as qualified candidates embodying these values. This comes on the back of many calls for the inclusion of women in the decision making process and also governance respectively.
Speaking to GBC News ahead of the Assembly Elections, Mr Agyarko said the electorate should go for pople who are committed to the development and also people who are compassionate about the dire needs of the community.
“Vote for committed people who have the interest of their communities”, he said.
Mr Agyarko appealed to the government to use the 30 percent appointees to encourage a lot more women into the Assembly as women are under represented in the current government.
