Voting underway in 99 polling stations across Assin North

Voting has begun in about Ninety-Nine (99) Polling Stations and about Fouty-One Thousand (41,000) registered Voters are expected to vote for three (3) Parliamentary Candidates.

In a related development, hundreds of Members of Parliament have abandoned Parliamentary business for Tuesday, 27th June 2023 for the Assin North Parliamentary by-election.

MPs from both sides of the divide “the Minority and the Majority” are currently at voting centers as polling agents and some are giving support services to their party agents to protect votes from their respective candidate-NDC and NPP specifically.

Also at the constituency are hundreds of National, Regional, Constituency as well party members from the NDC and the NPP particularly, who are all there to lend their support.

All eyes is on Assin North as political watchers and analysts have already predicted some slim margin win for any of the two dominant parties.

Several Journalists are there coupled with over one thousand police officers are policing the poll but the IGP has declared that no weapon is allowed at the voting centers.

The two leading candidates for Tuesday are James Gyakye Quayson the deposed MP on the ticket of the opposition NDC and Charles Opoku on the ticket of the governing NPP.
