In a surprising turn of events, the Incumbent Member of Parliament for Walewale, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lariba Zuweira Abudu has announced her withdrawal from the 2024 parliamentary primaries.

This decision comes after the re-run of the primaries in the Walewale Constituency, which ended inconclusively due to an unfortunate incident that prevented the Electoral Commission from declaring the final results.

Citing her desire to promote peace, unity, and the greater good of the party in the Constituency, the MP has formally stepped down as a candidate for the upcoming general election.

Lariba Zuweira Abudu, the MP for Walewale Constituency expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to represent the constituency over the past four years and assured them of her unwavering support to the NPP’s 2024 election campaign.
