The NDC says it has no problem sitting on the left side of the Speaker when the House resumes Friday, January 15.

Both the NPP and NDC have been fighting over who has the right to sit at the right side, conventionally reserved for the majority party in Parliament.

The disagreements over the sitting positions stem from the fact that both parties secured 137 seats each in this parliament. The MPs during the inauguration of the 8th Parliament took over the majority chamber, signaling the resolve to occupy that side when the house resumes.

The MP for Fomena Andrews Asiamah Amoako has in a letter opted to sit with the NPP caucus.

Leader of the NDC caucus, Haruna Iddrisu at a news conference today, said the NDC MPs have no issue sitting on the minority side.

The NDC also demanded that the composition of the various committees in the House reflect the nature of the 8th Parliament such that leadership of the committees is spread evenly among the two parties.
