Tina Mensah loses to Jerry Ahmed Shaib at Weija-Gbawe

The National Patriotic Party( NPP) Parliamentary primaries has been held today, January 27 2024, with a high vote turnout at the Gbawe Cluster of Schools, a voting center in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency of the Greater Accra region.

Based on observations from the election grounds, participation was high compared to the recent district-level elections. Delegates got to the voting center very early before the voting process started.

At the voting center, the anticipated votes were 1,191 in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, at the Mallam-Gbawe Cluster of Schools voting center.

Two(2) Candidates; Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah and Jerry Ahmed Shaib contested for the NPP Parliamentary primaries at the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.

Out of 1,151 votes cast, Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah had 361 votes, Jerry Ahmed Shaib also had 786 votes, with 4 rejected ballots.

The Electoral Commission (EC) anticipated 1,191 delegates.

At the end of the results, Jerry Ahmed Shaib was declared the winner of the just-ended NPP Parliamentary primaries at the Weija-Gbawe constituency in the Greater Accra region.
