President Akufo-Addo host Black Stars to farewell dinner ahead of AFCON 2023

The Black Stars have been hosted to a farewell dinner in preparation towards the AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire. The team will be jetting off on Wednesday, 10th January, 2024 to Côte d’Ivoire. 

Tuesday’s night dinner was held to calm the nerves and tension among the squad, as they were treated to some good music and great cuisine at the Golden Beam Hotel in Kumasi, the camping base of the Black Stars.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was present at the dinner to bid farewell to the team as they embark on a journey to bring back the AFCON trophy to Ghana. 

President Nana Addo gave the team some words of encouragement pushing them to step up and go for gold as Ghanaians continue to bring back the love.

The President was accompanied by the Minister of Youth and Sports , Mustapha Ussif, Board Chairman of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Seth Adjei Baah and Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah.

Dancehall Artist Stonebwoy showed up in style as he entertained the players, coaches and guests with some great tunes.

Efua Asantewaa Sing-A-Thon also gave the audience some melodious vocals as she sang the national anthem to usher in the President.

The Black Stars are drawn in same Group as record holders Egypt, Cape Verde Islands and Mozambique.

Ghana will open her group account against Cape Verde Islands on Sunday, 14th January before taking on Egypt on 18th January, 2024,  before signing off against Mozambique in the final Group B game on Monday, 22nd January, 2024.
