President Akufo-Addo has cut the sod for the dualization of the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema-Kokoben road on the Kumasi-Obuasi Highway. It is among about 400 roads being constructed to improve road infrastructure in the region for easy movement of goods and services.

The sod cutting preceded the inspection of the four-tier Suame Interchange project.

Minister of Roads and Highways Francis Asenso Boakye stressed the economic and social importance of the road to the people of the region and beyond.

The Representative of the Asantehene, Nana Akyemfour Asafo Boakye asked the contractor to ensure people affected by the project are duly compensated. Commenting on the road infrastructure in the region, President Akufo-Addo said there is still more to be done to meet the expectation of the people.

In the upcoming general election, President Akufo-Addo said Dr Mahamud Bawumia and Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh are the most credible, reliable, trusted, transparent and hardworking personalities who will never disappoint Ghanaians.
