President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that the nation is actively addressing its economic challenges through strategic measures and international collaborations.
Speaking at the Chinese Lantern Festival Gala on February 9, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, President John Dramani Mahama emphasized Ghana’s commitment to restoring stability and promoting sustainable development despite current economic difficulties.
Mr Mahama drew a parallel between the Lantern Festival’s message of hope and Ghana’s economic journey, encouraging citizens to remain resilient. He stated, “The world today faces many challenges economic uncertainty, global conflicts, climate change, and emerging health concerns. Yet, the light of this festival reminds us that even in times of darkness, hope must never be lost”.
He also acknowledged the importance of Ghana’s relationship with China, recognizing the country as a key development partner.
“Ghana, like many other nations, is working hard to address economic challenges, and we are grateful for our friends and partners, including China,” President Mahama noted.
He further stressed the need for continued cooperation and mutual respect to ensure that the benefits of these partnerships are shared by all Ghanaians.
President Mahama’s administration is focused on fostering stability through diplomatic and economic engagements.
He also expressed gratitude for the longstanding relationship between Ghana and China, especially the support in areas such as infrastructure, trade, and technology.
