Daniel Tworfile, a second-year Physics student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has spent the past five years selling sachet water to finance his education and support his family

Daniel, affectionately called “Dr. H2O,” balances his demanding physics coursework with running his water-selling business as he strives to overcome his financial challenges and some criticism from peers on a daily basis. He shared his story in a recent interview with Voice of KNUST (VOK) Live.

Tworfile’s entrepreneurial journey began in junior high school with selling plantain chips. He started his sachet water business in senior high school on his birthday, September 23, 2019, and continued upon entering KNUST.

Despite the challenges, Daniel remained committed to his education and his business. “Life is like an examination; a transition from one stage to another,” he said, reflecting on his experiences.

Looking ahead, Daniel envisions designing an automatic diagnostic machine capable of identifying diseases and their cures. He urges young people to embrace entrepreneurship to reduce unemployment.

“Entrepreneurship is the best. I am encouraging the youth to be entrepreneurs in their small ways so that they will be able to eliminate the rate of unemployment in the country,” Daniel concluded.
