Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicate illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, assuring Ghanaians that the fight remains a top priority.

Speaking on ‘The Point of View’ on Channel One TV on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, he stressed on the urgency with which the issue is being tackled to restore the country’s natural resources.

“We are treating the matter as an emergency. We’re working around the clock, 24 hours a day. These matters must be dealt with all the urgency and emergency they deserve,” he stated.

He also highlighted President Mahama’s dedication to resolving the crisis, noting that significant progress has already been made.

Mr. Buah expressed confidence in the government’s strategy, assuring citizens that decisive actions are being taken to combat the menace.

“As a Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, I can tell the people of Ghana that we are dealing with this matter with all the emergency measures, all the urgency, the seriousness, and that they can be assured that we will be relentless and we will win the fight,” he reiterated.
