2024 FIFA U-20 women’s WCQ: Black Princesses stuns the Lionesses of Senegal with a 2:0 victory

The Black Princesses on Saturday 13th January, 2024 defeated the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal by 2:0 at the Thies Stade Lat Dior in Senegal.

The Princesses, with this victory away from home boost their chances of qualifying for the 2024 U-20 women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The Black Princesses controlled the game in the early stages of proceedings as they took the lead in the 5th minute with a superb Tracy Twum goal which opened the scores for the visitors.

The Black Princesses gradually took the game to Senegal when Tracy Twum found the back of the net again, two minutes after scoring her first of the game.

After going down in the early stages of the match, the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal managed to find some momentum as they pushed for an equaliser by mounting some pressure on the Black Princesses but they were unable to get the ball in the back of the net.

The Black Princesses with that impressive performance in Senegal will be looking forward to cementing a spot in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup when the Teranga Lionesses visit Ghana for the second leg of the final qualification encounter.
The Black Princesses will welcome the Teranga Lionesses in the 2nd leg slated to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday 21st January, 2024.
