The senior national soccer team, Black Stars left Yaoundé for Garoua on Sunday afternoon for their final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group C final game.
Ghana, who are winless in their first two games in the tournament faces the Comoros on Tuesday in a must win game at the Roumdé Adjia stadium.
The Black Stars suffered opening day defeat to Morocco before drawing against Gabon to grab just a point in the tournament.
The team is expected to win against less fancied side Les Coelacantes to restore their AFCON winning ambition.
Meanwhile, Stars Coach Milovan Rajevac will be missing the services of striker Benjamin Tetteh after receiving a 3-match ban by Confederation of Africa Football, (CAF).
The striker was red carded for punching Gabonese player Aaron Boupendza in a post match scuffle following a 1-1 draw with Gabon at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo on Friday.
The 24-year old who was introduced in injury-time against Gabon, will not be available for selection for the Ghana’s final Group C match against Comoros on Tuesday.
Per the ruling from the disciplinary board of the Confederation of Africa Football, Tetteh’s involvement in the competition is over until the Black Stars qualifies for the semi-finals.
“To suspend Ghana player Benjamin Tetteh for one additional game in addition to his automatic suspension of two matches. Consequently, the player has been suspended for three matches” says the ruling.
The Ghanaians are in a desperate search for a win to reform their AFCON campaign when they face Comoros.
The Stars are optimistic of a win to regain the confidence of ending the 4 decade trophy drought.
