Ghana will know her 2022 World Cup (WC) opponents on Friday as FIFA conduct the draw for the tournament.
The Black Stars who are in the same pot 4 with fellow African team Cameroon will be one of 32 teams taking part in the finals in Qatar this winter.
A 3-member contingent made up of Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, Vice President Mark Addo and General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo left Kotoka on Wednesday to witness the draw in the Gulf region.
29 teams have have qualified for the mundial in Qatar with three more nations to follow.
One of those three spots could be taken by Scotland, Wales or Ukraine.
Wales faces the winner of the semi-final play-off between Scotland and Ukraine, which has been delayed until June due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The other two places will be filled by either Costa Rica or New Zealand, who face off in June in their play-off, and one of Australia, Peru and United Arab Emirates, who are yet to complete the intercontinental play-offs.
This will be the last 32-team World Cup, with FIFA expanding the competition to 48 teams from 2026.
Per the permutations, Ghana will not meet any African side at the group phase-however, the 4 time African Champions could be handed a tough group which may include Argentina and Germany.
In all eight(8) groups made up of four (4) teams will be unravel at the draw scheduled to take place on Friday, April 1 at the DECC venue in Doha, Qatar.
The ceremony will take place at 7pm local time, which is 5pm Ghana Time.
