Aduana Stars head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin says he needs to strengthen his side before they can compete for the Ghana Premier League title.

The Dormaa-based side is placed fourth on the league table with 16 points after matchday 10 in the ongoing campaign.

The Ogya lads are just two points behind league leaders Karela United.

According to the head coach he needs to beef up his squad with at least five new quality signings before they can compete for the league title.

“We need not less than five new players to be considered title contenders in the league,” Fabin said.

“For now, we are not [contenders]; we are just trying to find our rhythm. But definitely, we need to reinforce if we want to be counted as contenders for the league title,” he concluded.

The two-time Champions last won the league title in 2017, and currently sit second on the Ghana Premier League table.

Following their big win over Asante Kotoko on Sunday,Fabin  his team cannot be deemed contenders for the title because they lack squad depth.
