The final draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 took place in an extravagant ceremony at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat on January 27, marking a significant milestone for the 24 qualified teams. The draw set the stage for the highly anticipated tournament scheduled from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
The competition will be hosted across six vibrant cities and nine state-of-the-art stadia in Morocco, showcasing Africa’s footballing talent in a bid for the continent’s most prestigious trophy.
In an exciting grouping, hosts Morocco lead Group A, where they will face stiff competition from Mali, Zambia, and Comoros. This group promises to deliver thrilling matches as these teams vie for a place in the knockout stages.
On another front, record seven-time champions Egypt find themselves in Group B, where they will encounter last year’s bronze medalists South Africa, alongside Angola and Zimbabwe. This group features a mix of experienced and emerging talents, setting the stage for fierce rivalries and compelling matchups.
