The race to secure a coveted spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco is heating up, with several nations already booking their tickets to the prestigious tournament. As qualifying matches unfold across the continent, the excitement and anticipation continue to build among fans and teams.

Leading the charge, Burkina Faso was the first to qualify for the 2025 AFCON. The Burkinabe team demonstrated impressive form, accumulating ten points from four matches in Group L. This stellar performance ensures that they cannot finish outside the top two in their group. Joining them from the same group is Senegal, who also sit comfortably with ten points from four matches, guaranteeing their qualification.

Cameroon, a five-time AFCON champion, has also solidified its position in the tournament. Sitting atop Group J with ten points from four games, Cameroon has secured its place among the top two, ensuring their participation in the AFCON.

Algeria, the 2019 titleholders, continued their perfect run in the qualifiers, amassing an impressive 12 points from four games. Their flawless performance in the qualifiers has secured them a place in next year’s AFCON, further cementing their status as a formidable force in African football.

Angola has been on a remarkable streak, winning all four of their matches in Group F. With 12 points to their name, Angola has confidently booked their spot in the AFCON, showcasing their growing prowess on the continental stage. Similarly, DR Congo has also amassed 12 points from four matches in Group H, ensuring their participation in the tournament.

Uganda rounds out the list of newly qualified teams, sitting on top of Group K with ten points from four games. Their consistent performance has solidified their position in the top two of their group, guaranteeing them a place in the AFCON.

The qualified teams so far include Morocco (hosts), Burkina Faso, Cameroon, DR Congo, Senegal, Angola, Egypt, Algeria, and Uganda. As the countdown to the tournament continues, the excitement and anticipation among fans and teams are palpable, with more nations vying for the remaining spots in the prestigious competition.
